The Navy League of Canada, Belleville Branch,
is an important part of RCSCC Quinte. The Sea Cadet Training program
is set out and supported by the Department of National Defence.
They are responsible for the officers, program materials and supplies
necessary. The Navy League's responsibility is to provide things
not covered by DND. The corps officers and the Navy League Branch
members work closely together to "make things happen".
Through Navy League support, RCSCC Quinte is one of the few units
in the province to own our own building, a fleet of boats and
musical instruments to support a large band.
With the expansion of our corps from 80 cadets
to over 100, the continued support of the Navy League of Canada,
Belleville Branch, from the United Way has helped in the delivery
of activites available to the Sea Cadets. More than just regular
monthly meetings, members of the Navy League contribute their
time and energy to provide support in areas of First Aid instruction,
orienteering instruction during the Outdoor Adventure Training
weekend, building maintenance, fundraising, volunteer drivers,
cooks and supervision for cadet activities.
Being a member of the Navy League of Canada, Belleville
Branch isn't about a lot of work, it's about being involved in
a lot of fun! Our cadets are enthusiastic and so are our members!
